New eye test could sharpen vision for people with down syndrome
NCT ID NCT05059041
First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether dilating (widening) the eyes before measuring vision helps create better eyeglass prescriptions for people with Down syndrome. Many people with Down syndrome have unusual eye shapes that standard tests miss, leading to blurry glasses. The researchers compared prescriptions made with and without dilation in 42 participants to see which gave sharper vision.
