New study aims to catch cancer earlier for people with HIV

NCT ID NCT05074264

Summary

This study is testing different combinations of screening tests to find the best way to detect early, pre-cancerous changes in the cervix and anus of people living with HIV. People with HIV are at higher risk for cancers caused by HPV. The research involves over 1,500 adults in Mexico and Puerto Rico who will undergo various swab tests and imaging procedures. The goal is to create a more effective screening program to catch these changes early, when they are most treatable.
