Clearer scans for cancer treatment? new tech aims to sharpen the picture

NCT ID NCT04565457

Summary

This study tested whether adding a new 2D 'antiscatter grid' to a specialized CT scanner could produce clearer images for cancer patients. It involved 43 adults receiving radiation therapy for prostate, head/neck, or abdominal cancers. Each participant received both a standard scan and a scan with the new grid so researchers could compare the image quality.
