New scan could reduce unnecessary breast biopsies
NCT ID NCT05046301
Summary
This study is testing if a special type of mammogram, called contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), can better predict whether suspicious white spots (calcifications) seen on a regular mammogram are actually high-risk breast cancer. It involves 59 women who already need a biopsy for these spots. The goal is to see if this new scan can help doctors more accurately tell who truly needs a biopsy and who might avoid one.
