Repeated stool tests could catch more cancers, ease NHS backlog
NCT ID NCT07430540
Summary
This study aims to see if giving patients several stool tests (FIT tests) over a few weeks, instead of just one or two, helps doctors better identify who really needs a colonoscopy to check for bowel cancer. It will involve about 1,000 people in Scotland who have been referred to a specialist with concerning symptoms. The goal is to catch more cancers earlier while reducing pressure on busy colonoscopy services.
