New blood test aims to tame dangerous bleeding in liver patients
NCT ID NCT05124041
Summary
This study tested if using a special, rapid blood test (called ROTEM) to guide blood product transfusions works better than standard care for patients with advanced liver failure who have severe bleeding. Researchers compared the two methods in 262 patients to see which one better controlled bleeding, reduced transfusion side effects, and shortened hospital stays. The goal was to find a safer, more precise way to manage this life-threatening complication.
