Heart pill pause before surgery: safety test for valve patients

Summary
This study is testing whether it is safe to temporarily stop a common heart medication called a beta-blocker in patients getting a TAVR procedure to replace a narrowed heart valve. Researchers want to see if this pause lowers the chance of needing a permanent pacemaker after the surgery, while also checking for risks like heart failure or stroke. About 500 patients who are scheduled for TAVR and have been on beta-blockers for at least a month will be randomly assigned to either continue or stop their medication around the time of the procedure.
