Early bird or night owl? study tests best exercise time to fight prediabetes

NCT ID NCT07389005

Summary

This study aims to learn if exercising at a specific time of day—morning or evening—works better for improving how the body handles sugar in adults with prediabetes who have extreme natural body clocks (early 'larks' or late 'owls'). Researchers will compare no exercise, morning exercise, and evening exercise in the same 28 participants to see which timing improves insulin sensitivity most. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially create more personalized exercise timing advice in the future.
