NCT ID NCT01727388
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at 320 men to find out if a digital rectal exam is more complete when the patient lies on their back (supine) or on their side (lateral decubitus). The goal was to see which position allows the doctor to feel the entire rectum and check the sphincter better. Results help guide doctors on the best way to perform this common exam.
