Can shrinking the radiation zone in brain cancer improve quality of life?

Summary
This study is for people with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. The standard treatment includes radiation to the tumor plus a safety margin, which can damage healthy brain tissue and cause side effects. The BELGICA trial tests whether using a smaller radiation area can reduce side effects and improve quality of life without shortening survival. About 347 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard or reduced-volume radiation, along with chemotherapy.
