Summary

This study tests whether the drug belatacept can protect kidney function in heart transplant patients who are at high risk of chronic kidney disease. About 25 adults who had a heart transplant 3 months ago and have declining kidney function will receive belatacept along with reduced doses of standard anti-rejection drugs. The goal is to improve kidney function and reduce the need for dialysis or a kidney transplant, without increasing the risk of heart rejection.
