New therapy aims to lift depression for veterans with brain injuries

Summary

This study tested if a therapy called Behavioral Activation could help Veterans with depression after a traumatic brain injury (TBI). About 40 Veterans received either this therapy plus their usual care, or just their usual care. The therapy involved six sessions over three months to help set and achieve personal goals. Researchers wanted to see if the therapy was practical to use and if it helped reduce depression and improve quality of life.
