New study tests if lifestyle tips can cut chemical exposure
NCT ID NCT07465315
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will test whether a behavioral program—including informative guidelines and social network support—can help adults in Spain reduce their exposure to environmental chemical pollutants. 740 participants aged 30-60 will be randomly assigned to either the program or standard healthy lifestyle advice. The main goal is to see if the program leads to a decrease in pollutant levels over 3 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
behavioral intervention (informative guidelines and social network interaction)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a simple, low-cost way for people to reduce their exposure to everyday chemical pollutants.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with a relatively short follow-up of 3 months. The intervention may not produce lasting changes, and results may not apply to other populations.
