Pedaling in bed: new device aims to fight hospital weakness
NCT ID NCT07281638
Summary
This study is testing a simple exercise bike that attaches to a hospital bed. The goal is to see if patients can safely use it to stay active during their stay, which may help prevent common problems like muscle loss, blood clots, and confusion. Researchers will enroll 80 adult patients at Indiana University Health hospitals to measure how often the bike is used and if it helps patients get stronger and go home sooner.
