First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether gentle reminders built into electronic health records could help doctors avoid unnecessary tests and treatments in older adults. Researchers focused on three common areas: testing for bladder infections without symptoms, PSA screening in men over 75, and overtreating diabetes with strong medications. Over 600 primary care doctors participated to see if these 'nudges' improved care.
