New scan could sharpen prostate cancer detection

NCT ID NCT07164027

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET/CT scan using a radioactive tracer (flotufolastat F 18) can better guide prostate biopsies than standard MRI. About 30 men with suspicious MRI findings will get both types of scans before biopsy. The goal is to see if the new method finds more aggressive cancers and reduces unnecessary biopsies.
