First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a workplace-based program designed to help low-wage hospital service workers manage depression and become more physically active. Ten participants will receive remote counseling, work coaching, social needs support, and text message encouragement. The goal is to see if the program is feasible and acceptable, and to measure changes in depression symptoms and work limitations.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
workplace-based depression intervention (cognitive behavioral therapy, work coaching, social needs referral, text message support)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward an effective, scalable way to improve mental health and physical activity for low-wage hospital workers.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early feasibility study with only 10 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The program may not be acceptable or practical for all workers.
