Summary
This study is testing whether giving the BCG vaccine (typically used against tuberculosis) multiple times can help children aged 8-18 who already have type 1 diabetes. Researchers want to see if the vaccine can improve long-term blood sugar control and reduce insulin needs over five years. Participants will receive either two BCG shots or placebo injections one month apart.
