NCT ID NCT04507126

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This pilot study tested whether the BCG vaccine (used for tuberculosis) can change certain markers in the blood and spinal fluid of healthy older adults. Researchers measured immune responses and Alzheimer's-related proteins in 20 participants aged 55-80. The goal was to gather early data on how the vaccine might influence brain health, not to treat any disease.
