Researchers probe why Life-Saving transplants are missed
NCT ID NCT02677064
Summary
This study aims to understand the barriers that prevent eligible blood cancer patients from receiving a potentially curative stem cell transplant. Researchers will observe over 1,300 adults with acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, or myeloproliferative neoplasms to track who proceeds with transplant and why. The goal is to identify reasons—medical, personal, or systemic—that lead some patients to forgo this recommended treatment.
