Doctors test whether to watch or treat precancerous esophagus condition

Summary
This study aims to find the best approach for managing Barrett's esophagus with low-grade dysplasia, a condition that can sometimes lead to esophageal cancer. Researchers are comparing two common strategies: regular monitoring with camera exams and biopsies versus procedures that remove or destroy the abnormal cells. The trial will enroll 680 patients across the U.S. to see which method better prevents progression to more serious stages while considering side effects and patient quality of life.
