Can a genetic test calm cancer fears and guide better check-ups?

NCT ID NCT07455422

Summary

This study aims to see if telling patients their genetic risk for esophageal cancer affects their quality of life and fear of the disease. It will also test if a more intensive check-up schedule based on this risk is cost-effective. Researchers will collect tissue and blood samples from about 266 adults with Barrett's Esophagus and randomly assign them to either learn their risk score or not.
