Study probes why doctors and patients skip Cancer-Preventing screenings

NCT ID NCT04408105

Summary

This study aimed to understand why screening for Barrett's esophagus, a condition that can lead to esophageal cancer, isn't happening as often as recommended. Researchers surveyed over 700 patients with chronic heartburn and their doctors across seven U.S. health systems. The goal was to identify the knowledge gaps and practical barriers that prevent people from getting this important preventive check.
