First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a simple, swallowable device can help screen for Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer in rural areas, without needing a traditional endoscopy. About 110 people from rural Oregon with chronic heartburn and other risk factors will try this new method. The goal is to see if patients and doctors find it acceptable and practical for everyday use.
