New drug trial aims to stop Pre-Cancerous condition from turning deadly
NCT ID NCT04939051
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called obeticholic acid can prevent Barrett's esophagus, a condition that can lead to esophageal cancer, from getting worse. Researchers will give the drug or a placebo (inactive pill) to 30 adults with Barrett's esophagus for six months. They want to see if the drug reduces harmful bile acids in the esophagus, which are thought to drive the progression toward cancer.
