First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study aims to find early DNA changes in blood and esophageal tissue that could warn of progression to esophageal cancer. Researchers will follow 600 people with reflux, Barrett's esophagus, or esophageal cancer who are already scheduled for an upper endoscopy. The goal is to identify markers that predict cancer risk, not to provide a treatment.
