Fungal-Fighting drug could help stop deadly cancer before it starts
NCT ID NCT06732388
Summary
This study is testing if adding the drug itraconazole to the standard heat treatment (ablation) can better prevent esophageal cancer in people with high-risk Barrett's esophagus. It will involve 64 participants who will receive either itraconazole or a placebo pill alongside their usual ablation procedure. The main goal is to see if the drug helps clear the abnormal Barrett's tissue faster and more completely than ablation alone.
