New balloon treatment aims to defuse 'Ticking time Bombs' in heart arteries

NCT ID NCT07107971

Summary

This study is testing whether treating dangerous, fat-filled plaques in heart arteries with a special drug-coated balloon is better than using standard heart medications alone. It involves 400 adults who have recently had a type of heart attack. Researchers will compare how much the balloon reduces the fat inside the plaque over 9 months versus just using pills.
