Zap to stop falls? new device aims to steady Seniors' steps
NCT ID NCT06688578
Summary
This study is testing if a small, wearable device that delivers a gentle, undetectable electrical stimulation can help improve balance and make walking easier for older adults who have trouble with stability. Researchers want to see if using the device can increase walking speed and reduce body sway during balance tests. About 120 participants, including older adults with balance issues and younger healthy adults for comparison, will perform walking and standing tasks while wearing the device to measure its effects.
