Poking holes in knee cysts: new study tests if it stops painful fluid from coming back

NCT ID NCT07385560

Summary

This study is testing if adding a small extra step to a common knee cyst treatment works better. The treatment drains a painful fluid-filled cyst behind the knee and injects medication. The extra step, called fenestration, involves making tiny holes in the cyst wall to help it drain more completely. Researchers want to see if this combination reduces pain and keeps the cyst from coming back more effectively than the standard treatment alone.
