Engineered immune cells take aim at stubborn blood cancers
NCT ID NCT07679919
First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026
Summary
This phase 1 trial is testing a new kind of CAR-T cell therapy, called LMY-922, for people with certain blood cancers that have not responded to standard treatments. The therapy uses donor immune cells engineered to target a protein called BAFF on cancer cells. The study aims to find a safe dose and look for early signs that the treatment can shrink tumors.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
LMY-922 (BAFF CAR-T cells)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with blood cancers that have not responded to standard therapies, including those who have relapsed after other CAR-T treatments.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 1 trial with only 27 participants, so the main goal is safety, not proof of effectiveness. The therapy may cause serious side effects or fail to shrink tumors.
