NCT ID NCT07163676
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether Baduanjin, a gentle form of exercise, can help older adults with glaucoma. Sixty participants will either do Baduanjin for 60 minutes daily (except Fridays) for eight weeks, or be placed on a waiting list. Researchers will measure changes in eye pressure, mood, and quality of life to see if the exercise offers any benefit.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Baduanjin exercise
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help manage glaucoma symptoms and improve well-being in older adults.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The exercise may not significantly lower eye pressure, and results may not apply to all glaucoma patients.
