Good germs vs. bad side effects: early trial tests bacterial cocktail for cancer treatment diarrhea
NCT ID NCT06801067
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether a treatment made from specific cultivated bacteria (SER-155) is safe and might help control severe diarrhea caused by cancer immunotherapy drugs. It will involve about 15 adults who are experiencing this side effect but have not yet received other strong medications for it. The main goal is to check for safety issues like infections, while also seeing if the treatment helps resolve diarrhea without needing steroid drugs.
