Summary
This early-stage study tested a single dose of a new drug called AZD6912 in 40 healthy adults to see if it is safe and how the body processes it. The drug is being developed to treat rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease that causes joint pain and swelling. Since this was a phase 1 trial in healthy people, it does not yet show if the drug works for arthritis, but it is a necessary first step toward finding new treatments.
