NCT ID NCT05867251
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is the first to test AVZO-021, an oral drug that blocks a protein called CDK2, in people with advanced solid tumors. The trial will enroll about 430 adults with certain breast, ovarian, or other cancers. The goal is to find safe doses and see if the drug can shrink tumors, both alone and with other cancer drugs.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AVZO-021 (an oral CDK2 inhibitor)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced solid tumors that depend on CDK2, especially certain breast and ovarian cancers.
What could go wrong
This is a very early first-in-human study, so safety and effectiveness are not yet known. The drug may not work or could cause unexpected side effects.
