Scientists hunt genetic clues to predict dangerous brain vessel tangles
NCT ID NCT04772963
Summary
This study aims to understand how genetic changes are linked to the development and outcomes of arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in the brain and spinal cord. Researchers will analyze genetic material from 300 patients with diagnosed AVMs to see if specific gene mutations correlate with how the disease behaves and its risk of bleeding. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help predict patient prognosis and guide future treatments, but this study itself does not test a new therapy.
