Digital avatar steps in to help ER patients battling alcohol and suicidal thoughts
NCT ID NCT07418047
Summary
This study is testing whether a new digital program featuring a virtual coach (an avatar) can help young adults (ages 18-29) who come to the emergency room with alcohol misuse and suicidal thoughts. Researchers want to see if the program is easy to use and if participants can stick with daily surveys. They will compare the avatar program to a standard suicide safety app to look for early signs it might reduce drinking and suicidal thinking.
