New combo tackles both sides of rare blood disease

Summary
This early-phase study tests whether combining two drugs—avapritinib and decitabine—can safely control both the mastocytosis and the blood cancer (AHN) in people with systemic mastocytosis with an associated hematologic neoplasm (SM-AHN). About 34 adults with this rare condition will receive the combination to find the best dose and check for side effects. The goal is better disease control, not a cure, as ongoing management is expected.
