New drug aims to calm lungs in severe pneumonia

Summary
This study is testing a new drug called AV-001 for adults hospitalized with pneumonia from COVID-19 or other infections. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and if it can help patients improve by reducing lung inflammation and damage, potentially helping them breathe better and recover faster. About 120 patients will receive either the real drug or a placebo, along with standard hospital care.
