Smartwatches help scientists map hidden damage after spinal cord injury

NCT ID NCT04493372

Summary

This study aims to better understand how spinal cord injuries affect automatic body functions like blood pressure control, heart rate, and temperature regulation. Researchers will perform lab tests and have participants wear smartwatches to track these functions in 69 people with spinal cord injuries and healthy volunteers. The goal is to identify patterns that could help doctors better manage common complications like blood pressure drops and autonomic dysreflexia.
