Automatic breathing tube control may reduce sore throat after surgery

NCT ID NCT07017205

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of managing the pressure in a breathing tube during surgery: a new automatic controller versus the standard manual method. The goal is to see if the automatic method better prevents fluid from leaking into the lungs and reduces side effects like sore throat and voice changes. About 72 adults having surgery lasting at least one hour will take part.
