Smart breathing machine tested to keep airways open at night
NCT ID NCT06560411
Summary
This study tested a new 'Auto-EPAP' feature on a specific breathing machine (Vivo 45 LS) to see if it could safely and effectively help keep people's airways open during sleep. It involved 23 adults who already use a breathing machine for conditions like sleep apnea, COPD, or obesity-related breathing problems. Researchers compared the automatic feature to the usual manual settings to see which worked better at reducing breathing pauses and drops in oxygen levels overnight.
