Summary
This study tested a nutrition program called Autism Eats for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who were enrolled in early intervention services. The program used special feeding strategies and goal setting to encourage healthier eating habits. Researchers compared 132 children who received the program to those who got usual care, measuring changes in fruit and vegetable intake, food variety, diet quality, and mealtime behaviors. The goal was to prevent future health problems like obesity and high blood pressure.
