Autism clues found in blood and brain scans of young children

NCT ID NCT07400484

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to typically developing children, aged 3 to 5 years. Researchers measure a substance called N-CAD in the blood and use a non-invasive brain imaging technique (fNIRS) to look at brain activity during rest and social tasks. The goal is to find differences that could help explain autism and lead to better diagnostic tools.
