First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at how placing tiny needles on the ear (auricular acupuncture) changes communication between two key brain areas involved in emotion and body awareness. Researchers will use brain scans (fMRI) to compare these changes to those caused by a non-invasive nerve stimulation technique. The goal is to understand how ear acupuncture might help with conditions like insomnia and depression, but this study only involves 32 healthy adults aged 18-30.
