Sound sleep boost: noise bursts may sharpen memory in epilepsy patients

NCT ID NCT04788628

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how brief, carefully timed bursts of noise played during sleep might help strengthen memory in people with epilepsy who have electrodes implanted in their brain. Researchers will measure brain activity and memory performance to see if the sounds improve how the brain stores memories overnight. The goal is to better understand the connection between sleep rhythms and memory, not to treat epilepsy directly.
