Heart rhythm breakthrough trial tests new ablation technique

NCT ID NCT07106970

Summary

This study is testing whether adding extra ablation lines to the standard pulmonary vein isolation procedure works better for controlling persistent atrial fibrillation. Researchers will randomly assign 640 participants to receive either the standard procedure or the expanded procedure using pulsed field ablation technology. The goal is to see which approach better maintains normal heart rhythm and reduces the need for additional treatments over 12 months.
