Summary

This study follows 300 team athletes (football, volleyball, ice hockey) aged 14–38 over two points in their training year, measuring body composition and psychological traits like eating behavior, perfectionism, and body image. The goal is to understand how seasonal changes in training and lifestyle affect physical and mental well-being, and to identify factors that lead to better or worse adaptations. Results may help develop personalized monitoring and support strategies for athletes.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help coaches and trainers personalize nutrition, training, and mental support for athletes based on seasonal changes.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not apply to all sports or athlete levels.
