10-Year heart disease tracking study seeks clues to predict heart attacks and strokes

NCT ID NCT06497478

Summary

This study aimed to understand how atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) develops over time in different parts of the body, like the heart, brain, and legs. Researchers followed 320 patients for 10 years, checking for major events like heart attacks and strokes, and using ultrasound scans to see how the disease changed. The goal was to find links between a person's genes, body chemistry, and the risk of serious complications to help predict and prevent them in the future.
