Cleaner air, better breathing: new study targets asthma in low-income homes

Summary
This study tests two types of air cleaning devices—energy recovery ventilators and portable air cleaners—to see if they can reduce indoor pollution and mold, and improve asthma control and lung function. About 80 children and adults with asthma from low-income households in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will take part. Participants will receive either a real or placebo device, and their health and home air quality will be tracked for one year.
